Smart Badge Installation Guide

Introduction

AIPP has partnered with Yoshki Ltd to power AIPP’s online member logo using the Digital Smart Badge service.

By using the AIPP Smart Badge, with the authorisation embedded code, AIPP is able to control the use of their approved member logo online and protect the business interests of genuine AIPP members.

AIPP has also given the consumer the ability to validate any AIPP member online through a very simple ‘click and check’ process, offering consumers additional peace of mind that they are looking at the website of a property professional they can trust.

Click the logo below to view an example of the verification information which your website visitors will see.

Website Verification

Yoshki’s website validation technology is a simple but important feature for the AIPP Smart Badge.

When the AIPP Smart Badge has been installed on your website, anyone browsing it can click on the Smart Badge and receive instant confirmation of your membership with the AIPP.

When a visitor clicks on the AIPP Smart Badge, they will be seamlessly directed to a page on the AIPP website, which will instantly validate your membership and additionally show details for your business.

Once this is complete, the visitor can return to your website straight away.

AIPP has already supplied a list of approved website addresses to Yoshki.

Your website visitor will receive the results of the check in seconds. If, for any reason, the failed verification message appears, please check with AIPP that they have a correct website address for your business stored in their database.

Q – The link is not working/the logo does not display on my website

First, you need to make sure that you’re not adding the AIPP Smart Badge code to development or testing sites; the AIPP Smart Badge will only work correctly once published to an authorised member website.

If you are confident that you are using the AIPP Smart Badge on the correct website, please contact AIPP direct to get your website added to the authorised list of websites.

If your business uses additional domains, for example, .com and co.uk, these addresses count as separate domains and will each need to be added to the approved list.

You can contact AIPP’s membership team by emailing enquiries@aipp.org.uk or by calling +44 (0)203 4883 952

Q – How can I use the Smart Badge on other channels – for example emails?

The Smart Badge can only be used on your website, where the verification technology will make sure it will only work for approved websites. You are not allowed to reproduce it elsewhere.

Q – My website is responsive; will the Smart Badge work ok?

Yes, the AIPP Smart Badge is fully responsive and optimised for mobile websites.

Q – How are you tracking usage and what data are you recording? –

Yoshki uses Google Analytics to power its reporting functionality.

Through this reporting functionality, Yoshki and the AIPP have access to the following data:

  • which websites have implemented the AIPP Smart Badge code. This is to help prevent inappropriate usage of the AIPP Smart Badge and to see which websites have adopted the service
  • how many times the AIPP Smart Badge has been clicked – this is to help manage system performance and to gain insight into usage.

Yoshki does not access, record or store any additional data such as IP addresses, page navigation behaviour, etc.

Of the information we do access – set out above – it is only ever shared between the AIPP and Yoshki, to facilitate the Digital logo service.
